03. arid serenity
concept
A collision of the organic and the constructed, this campaign translates the sun baked irregularity of Joshua Tree into dialogue with the disciplined geometry of Luis Barragán. Textures of the desert, tangled tumbleweed, stitched cacti, and sun worn hues, meet architectural precision in clean tailoring, angular accessories, and a structured colour story. Designed for the eclectic sensibility of 10 Corso Como, the series is anchored by a custom scarf that fuses organic patterning with deliberate geometric form, serving as both accessory and symbol of the two worlds in balance.

A meeting of desert born irregularity and modernist geometry, capturing the tension and harmony between Joshua Tree’s organic forms and Luis Barragán’s architectural precision.
challenge
To merge two visually opposing languages, raw, irregular desert landscapes and controlled, modernist architecture, into a single fashion narrative that felt both editorially striking and commercially aligned with 10 Corso Como. The integration of a self-designed scarf added complexity, it had to stand alone as a design piece while naturally embedding into the styling without overpowering the garments.
approach
Every element of the shoot was filtered through the lens of contrast and cohesion. Organic elements such as tumbleweed, soft draped fabrics, and cactus inspired embroidery grounded the looks in nature. These were offset by crisp cuts, intentional layering, and saturated planes of colour echoing Barragán’s architecture. Lighting moved between warm, sun kissed tones and cool, architectural shadows to reinforce the thematic tension. The scarf, blending free flowing forms with structured lines, became the visual bridge, appearing in multiple looks as both styling device and narrative anchor.
role
This was a solo led project where I owned the full creative process from concept to execution. Creative direction, concept development, scarf design, styling, set design, prop making (including hand crafted tumbleweed), casting, photo editing, and coordination of photography execution.
styling
The styling for Arid Serenity draws directly from the project’s warm, earthy palette, pairing organic, free flowing elements with the sharp, linear structures reminiscent of Luis Barragán’s architectural language. Each look layers textures and patterns that echo the dialogue between nature and geometry, from soft, sun bleached hues and loose silhouettes to precise stripes and gridded patterns. The pieces balance casual functionality with sculptural form, reflecting both the tactile rawness of the desert and the measured order of modernist design.
